Intimidation of FOC's as management escalate dispute
Evening Times editor Donald Martin brought his bully boy tactics into play on Friday afternoon by suspending an FoC. Gordon Thomson was taken into an office with Martin and another senior member of staff. Gordon requested he be accompanied as is his right in front of two managers and this was refused. After he walked out of the editors office and phoned a full time union official he was informed that he would be suspended. The union has demanded to see the reasons in writing immediately. This may lead to further escalation of strike action and work to rule over the weekend.
