Newsquest dispute

A joint chapel meeting is to be held immediately after tomorrow's (Friday 20 July) walk-out at 3p.m.

It's a mandatory meeting and it will be convened in Room A005 in the Govan Mbeki Building at Glasgow Caledonian University.

The agenda will include legal advice on the options you can take when confronted by pickets at each site entrance on Wednesday and Thursday.

A further circular will be issued tomorrow on the suggested route to be taken by staff when leaving the building to maximise the national television coverage.

The NUJ would obviously like freelances not to contribute during the strike action, but we also don't want to jeopardise their positions. The union is setting up a hardship fund to compensate our regular casuals from chapel funds to avoid hardship. Some freelances have said they will not submit copy others will send the usual but no more.
