Bushel-trimming exposes more women as NUJ leading lights

Since the website reported that Nicola Coleman has been recruited as Assistant Organiser in Ireland, it has been pointed out that the NUJ has other women in equally crucial positions.

Sue Harris is Assistant Organiser for Broadcasting while Fiona Swarbrick performs the same role for the Magazine, Book and PR sector.

And, as a reader quite rightly points out: "Let's not forget also our Legal Officer, Claire Kirby".

Of course, the NUJ is fully committed to promoting equality both through the media and within the union.

While it is arguable that no organisation can hope to be fully representative of the full diversity of its membership, those who feel under-recognised can take direct action to remedy the situation - get involved.

In other words, behave as if you own the NUJ - you do!
